Grasshopper
After beginning a
three-month spring training, we discovered that Grasshopper was traveling
crooked to the right on the longe line when saddled, had a serious "go forward"
issue when ridden, and a "habit" of pinning his ears when asked to move out.
He didn't seem to be working out of these conditions. Our trainer
recommended that I give Dr. Landau a chance to examine my horse. In the
first session, Dr. Landau uncovered a sore right hind muscle, among other
things. He also "cracked" the base of Grasshopper's neck. The day
after this session, our trainer said he had the best ride on him in more than a
month. Every day after, the horse improved, with free forward movement not
previously experienced. The following weekend was my first ride after this
session and I couldn't believe the difference! He consistently
demonstrated big springy steps behind at the trot. Grasshopper's training
progressed speedily with continued resistance-free forward motion. This is
now combining effortlessly when he is asked to round up and lift his back.
We now see much less ear-pinning and he exhibits an overall brighter attitude.
I am very happy with this outcome.
I will continue with whatever series of treatments Dr. Landau recommends.
I am ecstatic with his results, and I feel fortunate to have access to someone
with Dr. Landau's skills and attention to his patients. Had I known that
my horse was as sore as he was, I certainly would have had him attended to
sooner. This experience dramatically proves to me that I should keep an
open mind and resist making assumptions if my horse demonstrates behavior
problems. Horses do not lie; they do not calculate behaviors.

Hope
I brought Hope to see Dr. Landau because of her hip dysplasia.
Hope was doing OK, but would be lame after a walk in the woods.
She would walk slowly up the stairs and bunny-hop while she was playing
in the yard. Hope was on a daily joint supplement and frequently
given an
anti-inflammatory. X-rays showed hip dysplasia with
mild degenerative changes. Dr. Landau tested Hope and put her on
nutritional supplements. He also did some chiropractic
adjustments. As each month or two went by, supplements were added
or removed, doses changed, and chiropractic adjustments were made.
I found Hope needed fewer doses of Rimadyl; she was stiff and lame less
often. Now it has been months if not a whole year since she has needed
any Rimadyl. We continue to see Dr. Landau for maintenance visits.
To watch Hope run through the woods one day and bound up the stairs the
next morning, you wouldn't believe that her X-rays showed severe
degenerative changes. Now I can let Hope run without worry.

Fred
My 17-year-old cat Fred was diagnosed via ultrasound with thickened
bowels. Surgical biopsy was recommended to determine whether he
had IBD or intestinal lymphoma. His appetite wasn't good, his
stools were not normal, he lost 4 pounds in 6 months, and he was 17!
I was not about to put him through surgery, so I sought alternative
treatments with Dr. Landau. The veterinarian placed him on
digestive enzymes, whole body support, and boosts for both his immune
and enteric systems -- this after a very noninvasive exam, which
Fred much appreciated. Within 24 hours, I noticed Fred's stools
were virtually normal. His appetite keeps getting better and better, and
he is feeling so much better that he is playing like a young cat again.
It has been 30 days since his treatment began, and for the first time in
months, he has not shown any weight loss. Thanks to Dr. Landau, I
believe Fred is on the regimen that will give him quality of life for
his remaining years. And that means the world to me because he's
such a special cat.

Roscoe
I
finally got to trot / canter Roscoe around the ring; I can't remember a
time when he didn't chronically cough a few times within the first 5
minutes of a workout. He just kept going for the whole 20 minutes
-- no coughing at all! He also finally lost his bloated physique.
Thanks for all the methodical and progressive work. His latest
treatment for worms/immune/eye started out with some diarrhea and a
suddenly foul smell from his still slightly chronic white line infection
in his feet. I got the impression his body was finally clear to push out
all the lagging leftover blockages/toxins. His feet are better than ever
now, and less and less resistance to pick them up. Thank you, Dr.
Landau, for giving me my horse back! His healthy physique and
attitude is priceless! It's never too late to get back on track.

Lily
Lily was a 10-week old puppy when I brought her home. During a
visit to a primary care vet, she was diagnosed with a mild case of mange.
Having owned dogs with severe hip dysplasia, I asked the vet to x-ray her hips
while she was anesthetized for spaying surgery. She was diagnosed with
bilateral hip dysplasia, and corrective surgery was recommended by two
specialists prior to her reaching the age of two. Rather than put Lily
through surgery and rehabilitation, I chose to treat with Dr. Landau.
First, he helped to clear up the mange with immune-boosting supplements, rather
than the strong ointments prescribed by the vets. He then put her on a
maintenance plan of supplements to support her joints. She is now two and
a half years old and has no outward side of discomfort or lameness. She
runs, plays, and is an extremely happy and healthy animal. With Dr.
Landau's help and guidance, we have been able to avoid unnecessary surgery.
When Dr. Landau initially began working with Lily, she was only 5 months of age
and obviously, quite a handful. However, he was extremely patient with
her; and although she is still playful during her sessions, she is much more
comfortable with the hands-on adjustments. I have been extremely pleased
with the work Dr. Landau has performed, and we continue to keep Lily on a
maintenance plan of treatments every 6 to 8 weeks. In this way, she
remains structurally sound, on an optimum diet and supplement plan, and in great
overall condition.

Squeaks
Calico kitty Squeaks was only four years old when she suddenly
developed an odd malady: she continually hissed at her tail
and whirled around to attack it. Traditional veterinarians ran
a number of tests and could offer medications but no cure for what
is now called feline hyperesthesia. An additional problem was
that Squeaks let only me touch her; she
put up a fierce battle with anyone else who came close.
Consequently, she had to be restrained and given anesthesia for
every examination. The situation was stressful and frustrating
for both me and Squeaks. Dr. Landau took on Squeaks'
challenge. With regular visits and a variety of medical
supplements, he was able to diminish the frequency of her episodes
until they eventually disappeared altogether. This success
seems miraculous given the fact that he could examine her only as
she sat in the enclosed safety of her carrier. The true test
of Squeaks' health came when she did something she loved to do but
couldn't when her back was in pain -- curl up in the bathroom sink.
We are grateful for Dr. Landau's patience and diligence in helping
us both through a difficult time.
