Our Laser Therapy Helps You Accelerate the Healing Process!

The goal of laser therapy is to deliver light energy units, in the form of photons, to damaged cells. The consensus of experts is that photons, absorbed by the cells through laser therapy, stimulate the mitochondria to accelerate production of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). This biochemical increase in cell energy is used to help transform cells from a state of disease into a stable, healthy state.

Frequently Asked Questions on Animal Laser Therapy

How much does it cost to rent it?

$350 per month. This includes everything you need to know in how to use the laser, treatment protocol, and access to the staff at Landau Veterinary Services to answer any questions you have.

Why laser therapy?

Veterinarians are recommending our laser therapy because it’s a safe, fast, side-effect free way to relieve pain and accelerate healing for your animal.

Can it get too hot like Class IV lasers?

Our Super Pulsed lasers deliver light photons deep into the tissues. The pulses durations are so short, nanoseconds, there is no heat sensation. Animals generally become very relaxed. Even very small black-coated animals tolerate treatments very well.

Are there any side effects or associated risks?

Our true super pulsed cold laser has no side effects and very few contraindications.  Although the My Pet Laser is safe under almost all circumstances, owners should not laser over areas where an animal has cancer or over the abdomen of a pregnant  animal.

How long does each treatment take?

The typical treatment duration is 5-15 minutes depending on the size of the area involved and the condition being treated.

How often should my pet be treated?

Dr. Landau will customize a treatment plan for each patient depending on if the condition is acute or chronic and how severe the problem. Start with every four hours the first few days to get to the loading dose quickly and then taper down as benefits are seen. Less on elderly or fragile patients. Each patient will respond differently with some patients getting better faster and others needing more time. As a rule of thumb, start with 2-3 treatments per day for the first few days then 1-2 times daily.

How many treatments does it take?

For some acute conditions, 1-6 treatments may suffice. Those of a more chronic nature may require 10-12 treatments. Conditions such as severe arthritis may require ongoing periodic care to control inflammation and pain symptoms.

How long before the results are felt?

You will typically notice improvement in your animal’s pain symptoms right away. Laser works at the cellular level and is very effective for promoting rapid healing. Laser Therapy helps eliminate your animal’s need for surgery or medications. Please consult with your veterinarian.

DETAILS ABOUT THE MULTIRADIANCE SUPER PULSED LASERS

  • The super pulsed laser (905nm) produces high powered light in billionth-of-a-second pulses. The power of each pulse drives the photons deep into the target tissue. Multi Radiance Medical’s technology’s power of up to 50,000mW creates a high photon density, reducing pain and improving micro-circulation.
  • INFRARED SLDS: Pulsed broad band infrared emitting diodes (875nm) penetrate shallower tissue depths than the laser but provide a broader spectrum of coverage.
  • PULSED RED LEDS: Pulsed red light (660nm) penetrates shallower depths.
  • STATIC MAGNETIC FIELD: Static magnetic field keeps ionized molecules of tissue in a dissociated state, enhancing the body’s potential to absorb energy.
